burberry prorsum s/s 2012

The Burberry Prorsum show walked in London yesterday, and it was yet another phenomenal outing from designer Christopher Bailey. You can always expect three things from a Burberry collection, and this one does not disappoint: amazing outerwear, gorgeous dresses and sweaters, and killer accessories. Some of the patchwork mosaic prints were a little odd, but there was enough working in this collection to let it slide. The opening purple trench coat with a full, pleated skirt was a beautiful way to start the show, and frocks don't get prettier than the yellow and green pleated numbers. The closing coat, a trench with chunky knit sleeves, was yet another innovative take on the classic garment - seriously, who knew there were so many different ways to interpret the trench coat? And the accessories - every pair of shoes on the runway was drool worthy, and shoppers will be swooning over the bags. But the real star were the great parkas - cropped, cinched at the waist, beaded or embellished with raffia, each one is a must have.
