jenni kayne f/w 2012

I can't resist tweedy menswear fabrics - especially houndstooth - so Jenni Kayne's fall collection, inspired by "a proper English gentleman's hunting wardrobe," is right up my alley. Shown against the warm, woody backdrop of the library at the Chatwal Hotel, the clothes are a subtle, '90s inflected interpretation of the theme. There are a couple great little dresses - most notably the cognac leather mini dress and the colorful, graphic Prince of Wales check printed frock - but the separates are definitely the star of this collection. The tailored pieces - suits, outerwear, trousers and a wool top with leather sleeves - stand out, and the ideas for evening are also stellar, especially the matching floral print maxi skirt/sheer blouse combo and the snow white mohair sweater/feather poof skirt. See the complete collection here.
