outfit of the day: just dance

My Tory Burch dance bag, Bloch split-sole slippers, Bloch "Amelie" pointe shoes, Danskin/New York City Ballet leotard, Target leg warmers, and Mirella wrap skirt.

Lately it feels like I'm spending way more time in ballet clothes than in regular, fashiony clothes. Since taking my first ballet class at a community college when I was 18, I've fallen head over heels in love with dance. After an eight year hiatus from taking class, I got back into ballet last winter, and I've been taking class at my current studio, Christina's Adult Ballet, for almost exactly one year. In a lot of ways, ballet has totally taken over my life. I mean, take a look at my current class schedule:

11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.: Intermediate Ballet
1 p.m.-1:30 p.m.: Beginning Pointe

11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.: Intermediate Ballet

9:30 a.m.-11 a.m.: Advanced Ballet
11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: Intermediate/Advanced Pointe

Sometimes I take more classes in a week, sometimes I take fewer if work conflicts with class, but I think about ballet constantly, and leotards are taking up more and more space in my closet. My most recent dancewear purchase is a gorgeous, Tiffany blue camisole leotard from Danskin's New York City Ballet collection. It has mesh insets at the bust, and the back is gorgeous. I'm wearing it to class for the first time today, so I guess this post qualifies as my "outfit of the day." Leotards and pointe shoes - not your standard style blog fare, but I'll take it!
