new year, new baby, new blog

If you've been following me on Instagram for the last year and a half, you've seen that my life has been a whirlwind. Work has been busy and rewarding, Graydon just keeps getting bigger and bigger, we moved into a new house - and we've also experienced a devastating loss and the renewal of hope.

In 2016, we decided the time was right to grow our family, and after two early miscarriages we were overjoyed to find out we were expecting another baby boy, due in March 2017. We shared the good news with friends and family, Graydon was so excited to be a big brother...and then we lost the baby at 21 weeks pregnant. Words cannot describe how incredibly painful it was to lose him. It's a grief that will never go away, and not a day goes by that I don't think of him.

This past year has been all abut healing, rebuilding, starting over. Despite the pain of our loss, 2017 was a year filled with love and joy. In June I found out I was pregnant again, and our third baby, our third son, is due to arrive February 28, 2018. It has been a long journey, marked by uncertainty and anxiety, but this baby is strong and healthy, and I can't wait to welcome him into our family.

And as I prepare to welcome a new baby, I'm also looking to the future and making plans for this blog. I want this little corner of the internet to serve as a place for me to share all the things that bring joy and happiness to my life, from my beautiful family to the job that feeds my creativity, and everything in between. I am so grateful for all the wonderful things in my life, and I'm excited for what the future will bring.

The last year and a half has been a wild ride, but I feel like the adventure is just beginning.

Holy moly, there's a baby in there!

I've been a little distracted lately because, well, I'm having a baby! I'm about five months along, due this October, and I've had baby on the brain since that test came back with two pink lines. Of course I'm still preoccupied with fashion, but now it's mostly about how to dress my growing bump and obsessing over adorable baby clothes. So if I occasionally get caught up and post about strollers, diaper bags, maternity dresses and the like, just know that there will still be plenty of non-baby related fashion goodness in between. :)

I've been plugging away at a new design for my portfolio website off and on for a few months, and I'm happy to say it is finally finished and ready for the world to see! It was one of my goals for the New Year to get the new site up and running, and it feels good to check this task off my to-do list. I would love to hear what you all think of the new site! I'm sure I'm not the only one, but the lead up to the holidays has been mighty hectic. Between last minute shoots, outings with family, and scrambling to finish buying and wrapping gifts for everyone on my list, this month has flown by. It's hard to believe that Christmas is just a few days away! I'm ready for some relaxing time off to spend with my loved ones, and so excited for the new year, which is sure to bring with it exciting opportunities and lots of new adventures. Until then, have a safe and happy holiday season, everyone!!!

I have arrived in Denver!!! I cannot wait to check out the YSL retrospective at the Denver Art Museum!!!
