yves saint laurent: the shoes

One of the most exciting parts of a vacation - for me, anyways - is putting together the outfits that I'm bringing with me. I usually get a little carried away and pack way too many shoes, more than I could ever wear in the brief amount of time I'll be away, but my trip to Denver was different.

For Denver, I only needed to pack one pair of heels.

Generously gifted to me by Neiman Marcus (have you entered the amazing beauty giveaway they're sponsoring?), these nude leather Tribtoo pumps were the only heels I needed in Denver. The weather was warm, the sun shining, spring was in the air, and these shoes went with everything. I was so excited to honor the house of Saint Laurent throughout my stay in Denver - here's how I wore these gorgeous shoes throughout my trip:

1/ Post Ballet Lunch
My husband and I were staying with friends in Denver, and I had the chance to take class at the Colorado Ballet with my awesome friend Raissa. It was so cool to take class in the same building where the professionals rehearse - company class was going on in a different studio while we were taking class, and it was a thrill being in close proximity to such exquisite dancers. All that excitement really worked up an appetite, so afterward we jetted to lunch at Buenos Aires Pizzeria (the food was so good in Denver that there will be a separate post coming your way soon - stay tuned). Other than the shoes (obviously), my favorite part of this outfit was pairing the feminine polka dot top with the leopard calfhair belt. I love the way the different spots contrast and complement each other.

2/ The Best Brunch Ever
I am obsessed with brunch. It is absolutely my favorite meal, probably because it's so leisurely - and you can't beat a good Bloody Mary. For brunch at Beatrice & Woodsley (again, more on the food later), I gave a nod to Denver's Western heritage with a denim button down tied to hit at the high waist of a cream linen skirt.

3/ Day at the Museum
To see the Yves Saint Laurent exhibit at the Denver Art Museum, I wanted to dress up a little bit - I mean, we were going to see French couture, after all. This dress, from Jason Wu's recent Target collection, got lots of compliments from the citizens of Denver and was as comfortable as it was cute. I'm also in love with the bright pop of turquoise bracelets paired with the yellow and blush dress.

  2. These are just the perfect heels! Your outfits look great and I especially like the first one, very chic :) How do you walk around in heels all day? I would love to be able to do that but I haven't perfected the art of heel-wearing lol.
